I preferred CASH over material gifts.
As a young child, I was always excited about money. I ensured that at an early age that I always had avenues of making money. My brother and I would create our own piggy banks out of boxes during the holiday season because this was the time we were allowed to request for presents from our friends and family. As usual, I would make it known that I preferred CASH over material gifts.
I would usually help my brother spend his money so I could save my money - Honestly I just loved seeing all that money in my box. As got older I realized I had a passion for helping my friends save money. I found myself constantly talking about money management, starting a business or even helping people grow and expand their existing business.

My husband and I decided to start the Smart Money Academy to bring awareness to the communities on the importance of financial planning and leaving a legacy. Our favorite scripture is Proverbs 13:22 - "A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous."

I moved from Colorado to Georgia to enjoy warmer weather
I started my professional career working for one of the top International Public Accounting Firms. I relocated to Atlanta a several business seasons and lack of interest in the snow and cold weather of Colorado, I relocated to Atlanta as a Financial Reporting Consultant preparing and reviewing 10Qs/Ks for one of the regional banks and later as a Technology Risk Manager supporting their technology delivery teams with risk identification and mitigation.
Finally, in 2014 I started Sparks Financial and Tax in Lawrenceville Georgia. My vision was to create a tightly held boutique firm where clients enjoy high level accounting and financial information with first class service. A community resource center where affordable financial education and planning can be accessed at ease. My expertise in Audit and Financial Reporting and Tax has given me a reputation of saving clients vast sums in tax dollars and long term financial planning.
